Maxxis’ title-sponsored driver CJ Greaves ended the 2017 season by taking another TORC Pro 4 championship, with his father Johnny Greaves taking second place overall. Kyle Kleiman won the Pro Light title. TORC: The Off-Road Championship presented by AMSOIL’s Rounds 12 and 13 were held September 22-24 in Elk River, Minnesota.
At Round 12’s Pro 4 race, CJ took second place after an intense battle. Although a mishap took Johnny out of the Pro 4 event, he went on to ace the Pro Mod UTV race later in the day, winning easily with CJ battling another driver directly behind. CJ also took a second victory that day, locking in his Pro Stock UTV championship with his first-place finish.
Also clinching a championship that day was Kyle Kleiman, whose Pro Light win gave him an insurmountable overall lead. Cody Kleiman, near the end of a season of outstanding performances, held a lead for a good portion of the day’s race and joined his brother on the podium in second place.
The younger Greaves won Round 13’s Pro 4 race decisively the following day, when he moved from the third row to second, and then into first place with a pass near the finish line jump. He held the lead through to the end of the race, clinching his championship. Johnny waged an intense battle with another driver to take second place for the day as well as for the season.
Kyle and Cody Kleiman were second and third for the day in Pro Light. The class’ overall standings for the year were a Kleiman family affair, with Cody in second place for the season.
Johnny Greaves took second place overall in Pro Mod UTV at Round 13, along with second place for the year.
Maxxis congratulates CJ Greaves and Kyle Kleiman on their championships and thanks all of its drivers for a season of fine performances.
